IndiaKliks joins hands with Canon India to promote photo culture in the country

Come September and you can expect every person with a camera in his hand to be busy. Light Chasers, in an exclusive association with Canon India, today announced IndiaKliks - an international photo event and one of the biggest photography contests for Indian photo enthusiasts.  The contest, which opens today, promises to provide a huge opportunity for budding photographers in India to click photographs and win a chance for their work to be recognized, displayed, and rewarded with exciting prizes. The contest will run from August 28 till October 31 this year.
Canon India, India’s No 1. Complete Digital Imaging Company is the proud award sponsor for this contest and will be giving away a Canon 700D camera to the winner of the contest.  With an aim to promote photo culture across India, Canon has associated with this unique platform for budding photographers to showcase their work and associate with the masters to enhance their skills.
Expressing his views on this association , Dr. Alok Bharadwaj , Executive Vice President , said “’Really speaking, Canon is not just in the business of selling cameras, but in the bigger business of building photo indulgence with its customers. This year's contest theme is BLISS - a feeling that means heavenly joy and needs a strong medium like photography to be expressed. The entries can be submitted in the form of portraiture, candid shots, shots of street life, culture, nature, landscapes, wildlife etc.
IndiaKliks offers unique global exposure to entrants through this contest in the form of their work being displayed at exhibitions, publication and also sale of select works. Speakers from diverse photography backgrounds and globally-acclaimed jury members will share their techniques and experiences in a symposium which will follow the month long contest.
The Jury comprises of top photographers Ashima Narain, Enjo Mathew, Neeta Shankar, Subir Basak and Sudhir Shivaram.
A three day symposium will be scheduled from 6th to 8th December, 2013 in New Delhi and will have workshops, photo talks, portfolio reviews and panel discussions by eminent photographers Anamitra Chakladar, Anushka Menon, Ashima Narain, Enjo Mathew, Jasminder Oberai, Neeta Shankar, Ravi dhingra, Subir Basak and Sudhir Shivaram. Dr. Alok Bharadwaj, Executive Vice President, Canon India will also be present at both the occasions.
