The Indian IT landscape has witnessed several major paradigm shifts and advancements in technology over the last few decades. To create awareness and understanding of emerging technologies in member companies, facilitate knowledge sharing, and highlight local products, the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) organized the first edition of its Annual Technology Conference 2013 (ATC 2013) on 11th -12th December 2013 in NOIDA (UP). The introductory conference focused on emerging technologies with the primary objective to transgress conventional limits and disperse significant information.
The theme of the conference focused on the key drivers of technology today - Big Data, Cloud and Mobility and provided a platform for industry stalwarts to share their views. The conference is part of the NASSCOM Tech. series, an initiative by the NASSCOM NOIDA Regional Council.
Speaking on the sidelines of the conference, Mr. Som Mittal, President, NASSCOM said “The convergence of these three areas Big Data, Cloud and Mobility will create a new platform for enterprises to develop new business capabilities across verticals. These capabilities will enable a more integrated view of the Indian IT architecture. NASSCOM aims to achieve revenue of USD 300 billion for the IT industry by 2020 and we are sure that Internet and mobile technology, big data and cloud computing will form a major driving force for the industry to achieve this target. This conference is a major step in this regards and aims to showcase the roadmap of the technological advancement in the country.”
ATC also organized a full-day hands-on training course on Big Data and its implications on developing applications. With organizations handling large volumes of data on daily basis, attendees were introduced to tools and technologies of Big Data. Speakers at the conference highlighted the emerging and established platforms pertinent to the applicability of blue chip companies employing Big Data technology. Showcasing how portability is emerging as a dominant factor in the computing industry, keeping in line with this ATC also emphasized on the expertise of various technology experts in terms of mobile computing and its security issues.
