Grover Zampa Vineyards keeping its tradition and vision of “Fellowship for the finest”, celebrated a day long exotic Stomping festival on Saturday 25th January at its winery at Sanjegaon, Nashik Valley. An annual ritual, The Great Grover Stomp was a perfect day out for wine aficionados, food lovers and those seeking quality recreation and live entertainment. While, all the wine connoisseurs exchanged great conversations over wine, the stomping event was graced by several renowned personalities who were seen enjoying their affair over glass of award winning wines like La Reserve, Zampa Chene Grand Reserve, Art Collection Viognier and premium sparkling wines Zampa Soirée Brut and Brut Rosé to name a few!
Talking about this much awaited stomping event, Mr. Sumedh Singh Mandla, CEO, Grover Zampa expressed, “We at Grover Zampa Vineyards are delighted to host this profiled gathering and to show case our award winning wines to these elite masses”. The Great Grover Stomp gives us an opportunity to celebrate with our patrons, and host a relaxed day for our guests with an array of fun filled activities aimed at rejuvenating and providing a learning experience with wines. It would also serve to convey our gratitude for the long relationship we have experienced with them”.

Even though the Indian wine industry is just about two decades old yet the wine drinking has evolved to a great extent in the country. The beverage has gained immense acceptance by the Indian palate. As there is an increased awareness & acceptance about wines, we wish to regularly conduct such interactive activities and take their wine drinking experience to newer heights by offering top quality and a wide array of wines from our stable.”
The Great Grover Stomp 2014 commenced with a vineyard tour that gave an opportunity to the guests to explore the vineyards and understand the varietals grown. Many guests were very excited to see Tempranillo growing very well along with key French grape varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Viognier and Sauvignon to name a few in our vineyards.
The guests were then escorted for a personal guided winery tour to highlight the internationally acclaimed best wine making process and practices.The tour ended with wine tasting in the La Reserve barrel room.The day long wine tasting and stomping event was complimented by various captivating performances by renowned artists.
Blurring the lines between wine and art was renowned artists Jatin Das and Rini Dumal creating beautiful artwork with wine for exclusiveviewing of the guests at the Vineyard. The Grover Stomp not only delighted its guests by serving wine but treated all the music lovers with irresistible music by popular band Junckt Featuring Roshni Baptist, a Jazz Funk Band. To compliment the mood and ambience across the vineyard were some lip smacking dishes prepared by The Gateway Hotel Ambad Nashik. Chef Natarajan Kulandai, Corporate Chef, The Gateway Hotels & Resortsdid live cooking with wine demonstration for Food & wine lovers. Tickling the tastebuds were dishes comprising of Prawns with chilli garlic with grilled asparagus and Grover Art Collection Sauvignon blanc sauce, fillet of fish with duxelle and Grover Art Collection Cabernet shiraz reduced tomato orange sauce and Risotto with Zampa Soiree Brut, exotic vegetables and sundried tomatoes.
The highlight of the day was the stomping experience. Guests were seen enjoying the crushing of wine grapesto experience the age old tradition of making wine by grape stomping. They also got to pamper their feet with the rejuvenated spa experience created for the event.
The evening ended with a Grover Charity auction that saw an enthusiastic participation by the guests. During this auction, live art created by top artists like Jatin Das and Rini Dhumal and a special batch of “Decanter award winning wines”which consisted of 4 wine chests with 6 bottles each from Grover Zampa portfolio; proudly signed by renowned Bollywood personalities like: Deepika Padukone, Nargis Faqri and Huma Querishi. Zampa Chene Grand Reserve and Grover La Reserve were auctioned. The collections from the auction were gifted to a local Jilha Parishad primary school at Sanjegaon, Nashik to create a water tank for children and to complete renovation work for the school.
