An eco-friendly state of the art crematorium “Swarg Vatika”

An eco-friendly state of the art crematorium “Swarg Vatika”
An eco-friendly and state of the art crematorium complex – ‘Swarg Vatika’, has been created under public private partnership at Trimulgherry, Secunderabad. It has several facilities, serene & pious ambience and natural environs to make the last journey of their loved one, most hassle free and fulfilling for the relatives. Mr. D.N.Gauri, Chairman and Mr. Ranjan Sood, Secretary, Swarg Vatika Trust, addressed the media about the eco-friendly & state of the art crematorium - “Swarg Vatika” at its premises in Trimulgherry, Secunderabad, on Friday.

The walled crematorium built on 13000 Sq. Mtrs. of prime land with an investment of Rs 3 crore (project cost of which Rs 2.40 crore has already been incurred), boasts of most modern amenities for cremating the bodies like bio-mass gassifier, LPG, CNG along with  electrical back up. Another highlight of the crematorium is the installation of the ‘Wet Scrubber Pollution Control System’, as per the Pollution Control Board norms, which also happens to be first of its kind facility in the state. The wet scrubber pollution control system connected to the bio-mass gassifier, LPG, CNG crematoriums eliminates the waste and foul odour thereby ensuring zero pollution. The clean gases are then released through the 100 ft high chimney constructed in the premises. The bio-mass gassifier is unique in addressing the sentiments of people, it uses wood for cremation as is the tradition, but only a third of the wood used for the traditional cremation is consumed here. The LPG gassifier installed here is the first and the only one in the state.

Swarg Vatika also addresses most essential needs like vehicles for transporting the dead; a room with vaults for preserving ashes; mortuary; Cold Store and Mini Store; shed for storing wood besides manual burning platforms. To encourage more people to avail eco-friendly cremation options like bio-mass gassifier, LPG, CNG, these services are priced lower. The cost of services at the crematorium are, Open (traditional) cremation – Rs 3500/-, bio-mass gassifier – Rs 3200/- & LPG – Rs 3400/-.

Swarg Vatika which serves as an abode of peace and tranquility has pleasant environs with trees and greenery in abundance within the premises and outside; Rock Gardens; Water Falls; Fountains etc. It has 15,000 Sft. RCC Internal Roads; Gallery for seating 250 persons; Parking space for 120 Cars; Internal Drainage System; Information Centre cum Office for dispensing information and Servant & Staff Quarters for staff being accessible 24/7.
