Co-convenor of Narendra Modi's election cell lands in CBI custody
Bhopal Anti-corruption branch (ACB) of CBI on Friday arrested a deputy commissioner of income tax department and her husband in Bhopal for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a builder to settle his tax penalty case. Three others, including a CA were also arrested.

Poonam Rai who got nabbed red handed by CBI for while taking bribe of 10 lakh rupee from a builder on Friday night has been sent in CBI custody along with her husband Ganesh Yadav till April 1.

On a complaint from the builder, the central agency laid a trap and caught Sanjay Raut, who works with Ganesh Malviya and had taken Rs 10 lakh from the developer as part of the bribe money, from Preetam Chotrani, a chartered accountant (CA) in M P Nagar area.

Malviya is the co-convenor of BJP's prime ministerial candidate's election cell. On the other hand, the complainant, Rajesh Bhadoria, is the convener of the cultural cell of the MP BJP unit.
