Housing.com, India’s first map based home search portal today announced the launch of ‘Demand Flux Map’, a tool that aims to bring greater transparency to real estate by providing users with useful data insights. The maps make use of Housing.com’s analytical capabilities and extensive internal demand database (which has been built over time) to present a concise picture of the spatial spread of residential real estate.
Designed by Housing.com’s Data Science Lab (DSL), this new tool will enable homeowners and real estate investors to make more informed transactions by gaining insights on demand from various cities as well as benefits developers to understand demand for their projects to better plan their marketing campaigns.
Commenting on the launch of this new tool Abhimanyu Dhamija, Co-founder and Head of Data Science Lab said “Housing.com has taken a giant leap in the direction of demystifying demand for residential real estate through the development of City Flux Maps. This tool attempts to give our users credible information about demand from various cities which will help them their decision making while doing or planning for a transaction.”
City Flux Map gives users an inside view of where house hunters prefer to live with inbound indicating which cities are attracting traffic, while outbound indicates where urban dwellers are looking to find their next home. For instance, the tool shows the major chunk of demand for houses in Pune and NCR comes mostly from other cities, while, Mumbai and Chennai are mostly internal demand-driven markets.
The tool is currently available in all the eleven cities that the company currently operates in namely - Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Chennai and Kolkata.
Apart from the ‘Demand Flux Map’ the site also offers tools such as ‘Real-Time Demand-Supply Monitoring Tool’ - India’s first map based, visual representation of demand and supply interaction in the property market and ‘Housing New Projects’ which showcases custom made 3D models of buildings for better viewing experience as well as incorporates aerial views of project sites.
