Rabindranath Tagore Surgical Centre near Hiland Park is conducting free Hepatitis screening camp to detect hepatitis B&C viruses to observe World Hepatitis Day on Monday July 28, 2014. The camp at Rabindranath Tagore Surgical Centre at Hiland Park will offer screening for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Random Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure and Weight management. Physicians and Gastroenterologists from the hospital will be available for free consultation on this day.
Interventional Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, Dr. Sandip Pal said, “Hepatitis B & C virus can cause cirrhosis of liver &malignancy Diarrhea, fatigue, loss of appetite, mild fever and flu are some of the common symptoms for Hepatitis. Thus, people suffering from jaundice should get themselves checked for Hepatitis at an early stage. Sometimes, we dismiss such symptoms as a regular occurrence and do not pay much attention. Being a virus, the infection has different clinical manifestations depending on the patient’s age and immune system.”
The camp aims to raise the levels of awareness among the public about Hepatitis.
