Guru Poornima celebrated at the Mata Amritanandamayi Math in Secunderabad

Guru Poornima celebrated at the Mata Amritanandamayi Math in Secunderabad
Guru is the supreme who illuminates divinity in us by the collyrium of knowledge who are blinded by the cataract of ajnana – The Delusion (from “Guru Gita”)

Guru Poornima is the day on which we should revise ourselves about the dedication and duties towards our beloved guru. As per the almanacs, it was on this day that the great Sage Veda Vyasa took birth. Acknowledged to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu; Sage Vyasa encoded the Sacred Scriptures, The Vedas, which is the base of the Sanatana Dharma the Eternal Religion (Hindu Religion) and thus guiding the generations which followed, to “A Path to Eternity”. Hence on this day, we pay our respect and regards to our Spiritual Masters and our Elders.

The celebrations started with the ashram in-charge Br.Raghunath conducting the Maha Ganapathy Homam. This was followed by the “GURU PADUKA POOJA” of Her Divine Holiness Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, universally known as “AMMA” who is healing millions around the globe by Her very divine touch, saintly embrace and spiritual teachings.

Students of Amrita Vidyalayam then performed the “Samskrithi Pooja”. "Mother and Father" - the whole universe is confined within these two sacred words. That is why our great seers who are established  in the ultimate truth, preach to their disciple the first lesson - "Matru Devo Bhava" and "Pitru Devo Bhava" The very intention behind this pooja is to kindle the spark of this great ethnicity.

Later Maha Sarvaiswarya Yagnam” was performed under the guidance of Br.Raghunath, disciple of Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi,  “AMMA.” Maha Sarvaiswarya Yagnam helps us to come out of sufferings and to bring forth prosperity in our family. It is the time for us to pray for world peace.

Several dignitaries graced the occasion including Chandravadanji, IAS, Secretary to Govt. and Ramesh Kumarji, IAS, Secretary  to Governor. Hundreds of devotees participated in the celebrations and offered their respects to the Guru’s paduka.
