Dubai is the most preferred overseas destination for Indian travellers in first half of 2014.According to the latest Hotels.com® Hotel Price Index™ (HPI), Bangkok which ranked number 1 consecutively for 2 years for being the most preferred overseas destination by Indian travellers loses out to Dubai in the first six months of 2014.London (UK), New York (US) continued to retain fourth and fifth spot, respectively. While Paris, which ranked the 10th position last year has moved upward to the eighth spot, followed by Las Vegas and Kuala Lumpur at 9th and 10th position, respectively.
While Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Jaipur continued to reserve the top 7 spots, Kolkata which is locally regarded as the intellectual and cultural capital of the nation was the new entrant at 8th spot; ranking above Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram for International travelers.Agra, which was at ninth position in the first half of 2013, did not make it to the top 10 destinations.
