Pepsodent’s ‘Call The Expert’ report reveals 24% Oral Problems in West Bengal are ‘Gum Related’
According to the survey, West Bengal recorded the second highest number of gum problems (24%), after Andhra Pradesh at 37%.

Dr. Dipankar Samaddar, Consultant, Ruby General Hospital, Kolkata and Oral & Dental Surgeon Specialist  explains, “In my routine dental practice in various parts of Kolkata, I get about 40-50 patients everyday out of which approximately 20 patients complain of bleeding gums. I recommend brushing twice daily and using toothpaste containing Zinc Citrate and Triclosan. Also, advice my patients to visit the dentist regularly, preferably every six months.”

However, bleeding and inflamed gums are most often a sign of potential gum problems, leading to Gingivitis and Periodontitis, more popularly known as gum diseases. It is recommended to use Pepsodent G Expert, which treats gum bleeding and creates a gum shield that protects gums and prevents cavities.

Major consequences for Gingivitis and Periodontitis are bad breath, tartar and decay & bone loss. Gingivitis is a common problem, but easy to reverse by following a dental hygiene regimen. However, if not treated in time, it could advance into Periodontitis, a severe problem in which the ligaments and bones supporting the teeth are infected, leading to tissue destruction. Periodontitis requires immediate attention of your dentist. If not addressed in time, it can lead to tooth loss.
