All #Govt depts and ministries will go live on #eBiz platform by 31st Dec

All Central Government Departments and Ministries will have to integrate their services with the eBiz platform on priority basis by 31st December this year. This deadline was set by the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitly at the time of announcing the Union Budget. The ministry of railways is also striving to meet the 31st Dec. deadline, said Union Railways Minister Sadananda Gowda in Bangalore yesterday.


The eBiz platform is a single window portal for business and investment related clearances, with an integrated payment gateway, which includes processes such as issuance of PAN number, filing of returns, MSME Registration, registration for Excise and Service Tax, among others.
The portal was developed by Infosys in a public-private partnership (PPP) mode. Infosys was selected as the concessionaire/ project implementation partner. And it is responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the eBiz solution.
The eBiz portal was part of UPA2 Government’s National e-Governance Plan and was launched by then Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma at the CII Partnership Summit in New Delhi. This online single-window concept was visualised to enable businesses and investors to save time and costs and improve the overall business environment in country
