According to the Daily Star news paper of Bangladesh Durga idols have reportedly been desecrated in Bangladesh's Sherpur District weeks before the annual Durga Puja festivities.
According to the news paper report the incident took place at the Protapnagar Puja Mandap in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur. Police has been informed and an investigation is underway.
The paper said that the idols of Durga, Ganesh and Kartik were desecrated.
Biswajit Roy, president of Jhinaigati Upazlia Puja Udjapan Parishad, condemned the attack and urged the administration to take immediate measures to punish the perpetrators.
