Well known entrepreneur Baba Kalyani, Chairman of Bharat Forge Ltd, world's second-largest forgings manufacturing company, was awarded with Sir M Visvesvaraya Memorial Award 2014 instituted by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) in Bangalore yesterday.
Kalyani who is also been recently re-nominated by PM Modi as the Co- Chair from the Indian side of the India-Japan Business Leaders' Forum (IJBLF) said in his acceptance speech that industrialists in India are ready to take up the challenge of building a new prosperous India.
Union Minister for Railways D V Sadananda Gowda, who was chief guest at the function, said all departments of the central government will be brought under an eBiz platform so that all business and investment-related clearances are available on a single 24X7 portal, with an integrated payment gateway.
Delivering the Visvesvaraya Memorial Lecture, former Planning Commission member economist Dr.Narendra Jadhav said it is the right time for India to reap the benefits of its demographic dividends and should invest in education and skill development.
