Over 63,000 participants ran for‘Spirit of @Wipro Run’2014 globally

Around 20,000 people in Bangalore took part in the ninth edition of the ‘Spirit of Wipro Run’. The run was organised in 110 cities across the globe with a whopping total of 63,000 participants took part in the run. Wipro employees, their families, friends, customers, analysts and suppliers were all part of the run. There were 21-km, 10-km and 5-km runs, besides a separate one for children.


The 2014 edition of the Spirit of Wipro Run saw over 300 people from client organisations participate in the run. The event also saw officially timed 10K and half marathons in Bangalore, Pune, Chennai and Hyderabad.
T K Kurien, Chief Executive Officer and Member of the Board, Wipro Limited, said, “Marathons celebrate the triumph of human spirit and instil in us the ability to overcome seemingly unsurmountable challenges. Grit, stamina and determination are key business attributes, all of which are essential for a marathoner.”
A passionate runner, Mark Jordan, Solution Optimisation Centre Manager, Gas Distribution of National Grid, said that running had given him a chance to share the challenge with tens of thousands of runners from different backgrounds, all of whom have a single common goal to finish.
