#US and #China strike climate change deal

The United States and China have unveiled a secretly negotiated deal to reduce their greenhouse gas output.
As per the new agreement United States will reduce carbon emissions 26-28 percent below 2005 levels by 2025, nearly twice the existing target.China will generate 20 percent of its total energy consumption from zero-emission sources by 2030.

A joint declaration by the world's two largest carbon emitters that they will put ambitious numbers on the table would inject additional momentum for the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, France.
