According to initial reports, the epicenter of the earthquake was said to be in Pokhra, Nepal, with the European Mediterranean Seismological Center stating that the earthquake measured 7.5 on the Richter scale. The quake also was felt in India's capital New Delhi and Kolkata as well.Indian Air Force stations of Sarsawa, Bareilly, Hindon, Chandigarh and Gwalior are on high alert to carry out relief and rescue operations.Strong tremor was felt across Bihar Orrisa Jharkhand and West Bengal as well.There are unconfirmed reports of an avalanche near Mt Everest.
