Dr Indira Rao, Obstetrician and Gynaecologistand Dr Anil Kumar Saklecha, Radiologist,are accused of medical negligence resulting in the death of Kapali Patne and her unborn child.
The initial post-Morten report said 35-year-old Kapali had suffered serious fractures in the Sacroiliac joint (the pelvic bone) and there was a clot of blood weighing 1,500 grams in the womb area. The left ribs from three to seven were also fractured.Santosh Hospital in Frazer Town, Bangalore initially claimed that the patient had reacted adversely to anaesthesia. But a post-mortem report now says she died of shock, haemorrhage, and an injury to her pelvis.
