Symphony Services and SensorLogic to Speed Development and Deployment of Enterprise M2M Applications

Symphony Services, a leader in software and product engineering services, today announced it has aligned with SensorLogic, a leading provider of cloud-based platforms that speed development and deployment of machine-to-machine (M2M) applications. The two companies will collaborate to deliver a market leading combination of technologies and services to enable enterprise customers to create and deploy custom, scalable M2M applications in significantly less time and at much lower costs than other approaches.

This alliance enables customers to leverage both Symphony’s extensive software engineering services as well as the underlying M2M technologies built into the SensorLogic Service Delivery Platform. The result is a seamless, end-to-end solution for building and deploying flexible, scalable and future-proofed M2M applications faster, more predictably and more cost effectively. The relationship promises to accelerate the deployment, and optimize the performance, of many business-critical applications such as remote monitoring of wind turbines, cell tower infrastructure, medical devices, etc. In addition to collaborating closely on customer projects, both companies will conduct a range of sales, business development and marketing activities.

“Executives responsible for driving new revenues or re-inventing their companies’ business models with managed services can plainly see the power of M2M,” said Paul Henderson, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management for SensorLogic. “Most have a clear vision of what they want to accomplish, but many struggle to get where they want to be within available budgets and market windows. Together, SensorLogic and Symphony Services offer the scalable platform, engineering services and expertise to help enterprises get customized M2M solutions to market with higher quality and much shorter time.”

The Symphony and SensorLogic collaboration is timely, as embedded devices are increasingly intelligent, interactive and interconnected. This proliferation of devices means that companies are scrambling to ensure their enterprise applications can tap the value of device intelligence to improve operations and enable employee and customer access via new managed services and mobile devices. The key enabler to make this happen is embedded software and M2M technology—the very areas in which Symphony and SensorLogic have a long history of success.

“Successful development of an enterprise-class M2M initiatives requires a group of people with diverse technical skills and experience,” said Sumit Chauhan, Vice President and General Manager, Embedded & Telecom Services. “Many companies do not have in-house staff members who fit the bill, so their M2M initiatives get stalled. Symphony Services has extensive experience in M2M engineering and knowledge of the SensorLogic Platform. Our people know what it takes to build and deploy reliable, innovative and high-quality M2M applications which enables us to present customers with a fast, effective and well-managed way to bridge their resource gap and deliver on their M2M plans.”
