Intel India Embedded Challenge 2012

Intel will host the finals and award ceremony of the Intel India Embedded Challenge 2012 on August 22nd, 2012 at Hotel Leela Palace, Bangalore. An eminent jury panel consisting of senior technologists from Intel, academia, Government and the Incubation community will evaluate the 34 innovations on three key parameters; originality of the innovation, engineering goals and feasibility of the product to commercialize. The 34 innovations will be showcased to range of government and private incubator community to facilitate further mentoring and incubation of projects.


The Intel IEC 2012 is a unique embedded design contest where participants get to architect, design and develop novel embedded applications in areas such as – Consumer electronics, Digital security surveillance, Medical, Education, Storage, In-vehicle infotainment etc.


Intel Higher Education program works with reputed engineering institutions across India to promote the quality of technical education and research in academia. Intel India Embedded Challenge (Intel IEC) is one such program hosted annually by Intel Higher Education team in India to promote research and innovation among engineering students and working professionals.


The 2012 contest has received overwhelming response from students and working professionals across India, with over 2800 registrations and 688 innovative ideas being submitted to Intel. After first phase of short listing 120 teams submitted full proposals. A set of expert evaluators from Intel short listed 35 top projects for the finals of Intel IEC 2012. A unique feature of this program is that Intel Technologists volunteer their time and expertise to mentor each of the student team to prototype their innovation using hardware platform provided by Intel, participants also get an opportunity to win over Rs. 15 lacs as seed fund and further mentoring.
