Kalasinchanam Centre for learning Bharatnatyam®, presents Krishnaleelamruta a dance feature portraying the 3 stages in the stories of Sri Krishna. Her highly talented students will be presenting the epic stories of Bhalya Kanda which is fun filled childhood years of Krishna with all his adorable pranks, Yuva Kanda which has “Rasaleela” the defeat of the wrestlers “Kamsa Chanura Mardhana”, “Rukmini Kalayana” and “Draupadi Mana Rakshana” and finally Yudha Kanda where Krishna will show his true form “Vishwaroopa Darshana”. The script for this presentation is by Shri. N. Gopala Krishna Udupa. The music is mingled with beautiful swaras and jathis composed by Shri Ramesh Chadaga and Shri D.V. Prasanna. It has a flow of Karnataka’s favorite “Dasa Krithis”. The choreography is by Smt. Yamini Muthanna. This is a theatrical presentation in kannada hoping to take the audience back to the “Dwapara” ages.

YAMINI MUTHANNA

Smt. Yamini Muthanna is an exponent and a teacher of Bharathanatyam and Ashtanga Yoga. She is the Artistic Director of “Kalasinchanam – Centre for learning Bharatanatyam” and the founder of “Yogasthala” a traditional Hatha Yoga Shala. Yamini is the recipient of two awards, “Natya Kala Vipanchee” a title awarded by the Vipanchee Sabha during their Music and Dance Festival in Chennai and “Shrigaramani” Award, a title received at the Kalakar Samelan at the Birla Kendra, Mumbai. She is “A top” graded artist at the Doordarshan. Her solo performance was telecasted on Doordarshan early last month. She is also an empanelled artist at the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and has traveled worldwide as a Cultural Ambassador, appointed by the External Affairs Ministry, Government of India.

Yamini has given Bharatanatyam recitals in USA, UK, Fiji, Newzealand and Australia sponsored by the ICCR. She has performed at Mount Barton Hall, Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan, London, Nehru Centre, London and her tour of the USA with includes New Jersey, Washington DC, Los Angeles was sponsored by the Indo American Council for cultural exchange. Her performances encompass a wide spectrum of spiritual and secular themes. Over 30 years in the field, Yamini has developed large repertories of performance work. She has performed for a variety of occasions, National and International festivals, conferences, corporate functions, product launches or many such gatherings. Yamini believes that Indian art, especially Indian Music, Dance and Yoga has some of the most profound and essential things that India has to offer. She has students from all over the world studying at her exclusive Yoga an Bharatnatyam Studio in Indiranagar, Bangalore.
