New GMs take charge at BEL

Six new General Managers have assumed office at Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL). They are Mr V K Mehta, GM (National Marketing)/Delhi;


Mr A K Sharma, GM (SATCOM & CC)/BEL-Ghaziabad; Mr R N Bagdalkar, GM (Technology Planning)/BEL-Corporate Office; Cdr (Retd) T Jagannath, GM (Components)/BEL-Bangalore; Mr Mahesh V, Chief Scientist (Central Research Laboratory)/Bangalore; and Mr Nataraj Krishnappa, GM (HR)/BEL-Bangalore.

Mr V K Mehta, GM (National Marketing)/Delhi, has led Marketing teams at BEL’s Hyderabad Unit and Radar SBU at Ghaziabad Unit to bag major orders for the Company. He has also worked in the BEL-Multitone JV, apart from BEL’s Components and Central Marketing Divisions, developing business with key civil customers.

Mr A K Sharma, GM (SATCOM & CC)/BEL-Ghaziabad, has played a major role in many C4I projects including Electronic Modular Command & Control Applications (EMCCA), BEL’s first indigenously developed command & control system for the frigate class ships of Indian Navy. He has piloted projects such as Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS) for the Indian Air Force and Air Defence Control & Reporting System (ADC&RS) for the Indian Army.

Mr R N Bagdalkar, GM (Technology Planning)/Corporate Office, has extensive experience in the field of Electronic Warfare having headed major projects like the Intelligence Electronic Warfare project, Ellora, for the Indian Navy. During the last 3 years, he has led teams to the successful completion of EW projects for the Army and Navy and civilian Jammers for Army & Paramilitary Forces.

Cdr (Retd) T Jagannath, GM (Components)/BEL-Bangalore, joined BEL-Bangalore’s Naval Systems SBU in June 2001 after serving the Indian Navy for a span of 22 years. He has successfully implemented export projects such as Coastal Surveillance Radar System for Mauritius and Ship System Integration project for Indian Navy tankers at Fincantieri, Italy. He has been the Project Head for the Chain of Static Sensors project for the Indian Coast Guard.

Mr Mahesh V, Chief Scientist (Central Research Laboratory)/BEL-Bangalore, has wide work experience in such diverse areas as Space Electronics, Radar, Electronic Warfare & Avionics, and Military Communication. He has been involved in the development of Communication ESM & ECM systems and Head of the development team for Project Tactical Communication System. He has been profiled in Prof T V Rao’s book, “100 Managers in Action”.

Mr Nataraj Krishnappa, GM (HR)/BG, has wide experience in the areas of Materials Management, Production Planning and Control and Manufacturing. A Lead Assessor for ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and AS9100, he has worked in Corporate TORQUE as the Six Sigma co-ordinator for the Other Units of BEL. He has also been Project Coordinator of Akash Missile System.
