Actor Abhay Deol unveils Hackett's first flagship store at DLF Emporio, New Delhi
The quintessential British men's luxury clothing and accessories brand Hackett London forays into Indian market in a joint venture with Madura Fashion and Lifestyle. This comes as a part of Hackett's strategy of rapid expansion into the South East Asian markets and also marks MFL's first foray into the luxury mono brand business in India.

The brand was launched in a remarkably British style by Hackett’s Managing Director Mr. Vicente Castellano who was accompanied by Bollywood actor Abhay Deol and Mr. Ashish Dikshit, CEO, Madura Fashion & Lifestyle at their first flagship store at DLF Emporio.

The stellar evening was hosted by Rima Mehra and Vidushi Mehra who presented a 'truly British evening' to mark the opening of the store. The evening saw the best of Hackett being displayed through live installations by models followed by a celebration of the crème de la crème of Delhi glitterati.

The event was attended by Page 3 celebrities like Suneet Verma, Shantanu and Nikhil, Nida Mahmood, Sunil Sethi, Rohit Gandhi and Jas Arora among others who enjoyed the evening in true British style.

Hackett London is a luxury British menswear and accessories brand, which dresses men of all ages from head to toe for any occasion, in a style which is classic but not old fashioned. Hackett’s “Essentially British” world has grown considerably since the early days and Hackett is now represented in over 50 countries worldwide via a mix of own retail stores and concessions, franchise stores and top-end wholesale accounts and represents the best of British men’s style worldwide. Hackett London is a member of the luxury British association, Walpole, which promotes British luxury around the world.

Actor Abhay Deol, known for his edgy fashion sense, expressed his excitement on being associated with the launch of the brand and said, “I am glad that Hackett has finally come to India. The brand caters to men of all ages and for any occasion, in a style which is classic but not old fashioned. Hackett is very British and understated which is something that I identify with’’.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Castellano said, “Hackett London has been expanding rapidly over the last few years as part of our ambition to become a global brand and we were proud to be awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of this expansion. India, as one of the key growth economies of the world, has been on our radar for some time and now with our recently concluded joint venture with Madura, we have the right partner to tackle India successfully. Madura’s undoubted understanding of the Indian men’s fashion market combined with the appeal of Hackett London will enable Hackett to build a strong business in India and bring our “Essentially British” world to the Indian consumer.”

Commented Mr. Dikshit: “As part of our international brand strategy, we aim to launch select international brands within the Madura F&L portfolio. Our partnership with Hackett London clearly establishes our intent and we plan to bring in a few more brands to India from around the globe. This is in line with our vision to strengthen our leadership position across various segments in the apparel industry”.

The opening of this retail space is in line with Hackett’s approach of opening flagship stores in key cities throughout the world. The 1,000 sq ft Delhi store, located at a highly visible location, will showcase the latest Hackett AW ’12 collection ranging from Hackett Mayfair, Aston Martin Racing to unique and distinctive formal wear.

Hackett London plans to open its second store in Bangalore at UB City this year and another store is slated to open in Chandigarh in 2013. Hackett London has 38 standalone stores and 44 concessions worldwide.
