Following the inauguration of the branch, the Hon’ble Finance Minister appreciated the banks commitment for upliftment of rural India and opening of bank branches in unbanked regions.
On the eve of 1334th branch inauguration, the welcome address was given by the Shri H.S. Upendra Kamath, Chairman & Managing Director. He reiterated that Vijaya Bank is committed to provide the banking services to unbanked villages and ensuring inclusive growth for all.
On the occasion, the bank announced several Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives at Kattukudipatti village for the welfare of the common public. The Hon’ble Finance Minister handed over bank’s approval letters for providing financial assistance for supporting education of two girl students upto graduation level, setting up a Rural Health Centre at the village with medical facilities and also providing drinking water facilities by installing borewell, pump and water tanks.
The bank also arranged special day long camp at the venue for disbursing on- the- spot loan sanctions and disseminating information on agricultural loans, MSME loans and education loans. In a well attended function of over 500 people, Shri K.R. Shenoy, Executive Director presented the Vote of Thanks to the Hon’ble Union Finance Minister and other dignitaries and committed that bank will empower the rural population by strengthening its presence in the villages.
