HARMAN India today announced that Lakshminarayan reassumes the role as Country Manager and Managing Director of HARMAN India, effective April 2013. Lakshminarayan will report directly to HARMAN Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer Dinesh Paliwal.
Lakshminarayan was first appointed to this role in 2009 and he established the foundations for tapping the Indian market for growth and market share. Post June 2012, Lakshminarayan’s association with the company continued as Non Executive Director of HARMAN India. As Country Manager and Managing Director of HARMAN India, Lakshminarayan reassumes responsibility to drive mindshare and market share for HARMAN in India across the lifestyle (consumer), audio and infotainment (automotive) and professional audio segments. In addition, he will be focused on building the engineering and development team to drive cutting-edge technology work, out of India, for the domestic and international markets. India has emerged as a key and one of the fastest growing countries for Harman globally, the largest contributor among emerging markets for patent disclosures/filings and the fastest growing development center within the HARMAN family.
Prior to joining HARMAN India, Lakshminarayan had a long career at Bosch India, where he was responsible for various key positions including serving on the Bosch Board in India as Joint Managing Director. An industry veteran, Lakshminarayan is active in Industry Bodies and is the present President of Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Lakshminarayan is the Co Founder of Bangalore City Connect Foundation, a not for profit Organisation addressing Bangalore Infrastructure issues.
