Maruti Suzuki celebrates fifth anniversary of Maruti Swift Dzire and organizes ‘Dzirable Mileage Rally’ in 31 cities across India including Hyderabad and Vizag

India’s leading car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki celebrated the fifth anniversary of its entry level sedan Swift Dzire with its customers in 31 cities across India. More than 2100 participants with their families took part in the ‘Dzirable Mileage Rally’ held across India to contest how economically they could drive their cars. In Andhra Pradesh, the rally was held at Hyderabad and Vizag. Over 74 customers with their families participated in Hyderabad city whereas 41 customers with families took part in Vizag. The rally in Hyderabad was flagged off by Mr. Omkar Nath, Regional Manager – Andhra Pradesh, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. and covered a distance of 63 kms after the ceremonial flag off from Taj Deccan and culminated back at the same place. The rally in Vizag covered a distance of 70 kms.

The rally held on Sunday across India was second in the series of celebrations to mark the 5.5 lakh cumulative sales and the 5th anniversary of the launch of Swift Dzire. The Swift Dzire celebrations commenced earlier this month with the launch of Swift Dzire Regal, a limited edition variant. The Dzireble Mileage Rally celebrations were held over the weekend in 31 cities across the country.

In the Hyderabad rally, Mr. K. Phani Raghav won the coveted crown for clocking in the best mileage of 37.6 kmpl in the diesel category while Mr. G. Raghupati Reddy won in the petrol category with 30.6 kmpl mileage. The winners at Vizag were Mr. I.V. Ramana in the diesel category and Mr. D. Ravi Shankar in the petrol category.
Interestingly, the average fuel efficiency in the Hyderabad event was 22.9 kmpl for Petrol and 30.1 kmpl for Diesel. While the average fuel efficiency in Vizag was 46 kmpl for Petrol and 39 kmpl for Diesel. The certified fuel efficiency of Swift Dzire Petrol is 19.1 kmpl and Swift Dzire Diesel is 23.4 kmpl.

The participants were provided with a time chart, route map and maximum mileage booklet as they drove their cars on a pre-defined route to the destination.

Prior to the flag off of the Dzirable Millage Rally the Company’s engineers and technical teams gave tips and tricks to enhance the fuel efficiency of their cars. The winners with top three mileages in both Diesel and Petrol categories were given away prizes. Laptops, Tablets and Smartphones were given to the first, second and third prize winners respectively.

Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire was launched in March 2008 and has won customer’s hearts successful from the first day itself. In recent months the Swift Dzire has been selling around 18000 units monthly across the country.
