Bangalore Global Volunteer Week Activity

Bangalore Global Volunteer Week Activity
Synopsys Community Relations, the CSR wing of Synopsys, a world leader in electronic design automation (EDA), semiconductor intellectual property (IP) and services used in semiconductor design, verification and manufacturing introduced a new program ‘Global Volunteer Day’ where five of Synopsys’ largest sites conducted a large-scale, one-day event in the week of May 11th in Bangalore. In partnership with iVolunteer, volunteers from Synopsys helped refurbish Rainbow Home, a hostel for poor girl students managed by Need Base India (NBI), and the Govt. School of BettaHalli.

‘Volunteers of Synopsys engaged themselves with youth, gardening and painting the facility. Rainbow Home was chosen because it was one of the organizations they could make greatest impact on youth in need,’ said Dr. Pradeep Dutta, Managing Director of Synopsys India. Dr. Dutta further said that, “The goal was fulfilled because more than 20% of the employees participated in the event.  I could feel the positive impact made by the volunteers in the community where they lived and worked on 11th May from morning till evening. Close to 200 volunteers participated from Synopsys”, he added.  The day concluded with a thanks giving note by Dr. Pradip Dutta, MD of Synopsys, India to all volunteers of Synopsys and people representing iVolunteer and Need Base India (NBI).

The new initiative saw employees of Synopsys, their friends, other volunteers, care takers and children of the Rainbow Home working in groups to deliver goals on refurbishing the facility through fun-filled activities. Volunteers from Synopsys helped inculcate sense of responsibility and team work among the children of the establishment.
