To make the property search more relevant for Indian Home Buyers, Makaan.com had revamped its Search Result Page (SERP) in March 2013. Post revamp there has been an encouraging growth in the overall count of responses and responses per user. Encouraged by these positive developments, Makaan.com has been working on further enhancement of the Search Result Page to make property search easier and quicker. Some of the new features added are:
1) Locality sorting: Indian Home Buyers can now refine their property search using “Locality parameter”. In a particular city, users can type the name of the desired locality in search tab and can select it through autosuggest options. The feature makes locality selection easier and quicker. With locality search tab, users can select a particular locality without browsing through the entire list. Furthermore, the most recently selected locality is shown first in the list.
2) No Duplicate leads: If the user has contacted the seller a message, “Already Contacted” will appear on all relevant properties. The feature has a dual advantage as it informs the home seekers about their last date of contact and also prevents creation of duplicate response for property sellers.
3) Classification of “Agents who can help the seekers”: The new section “Agents who can help you” showcases list of agents who are most active in a particular locality. The agent list is dynamic and entirely based on a user’s search criterion. For instance, in the same locality, the agent list for users looking for rental property will be different from users looking for a property to buy. The list will also change dynamically if users move from one locality to another. This initiative also serves dual purpose: introduces homebuyers to the most appropriate agent and offers agents additional visibility & branding via Makaan.com.
Commenting on the additional features, Aditya Verma, CEO of Makaan.com said, “Makaan.com continues in its effort to improve the website’s usability to help property seekers search and find relevant property in minimal time. We are encouraged by the way users have accepted these changes and enhancements in usability will be a continuing focus for us.”
