With reference to the sexual harassment charges against Phaneesh Murthy, President and CEO of iGate, and his dismissal by the board of directors of the company; NASSCOM would like to clarify that as a policy NASSCOM doesn’t interfere or comment on any company’s internal matters, especially when the investigations are still in progress. The Indian IT industry has always stood by the highest standards of governance and integrity and NASSCOM is of the opinion that this is an isolated incident and does not impact the progress of the India IT Industry at large and will not hamper its growth trajectory. NASSCOM as an industry body demands the highest standards of corporate governance from its members.
