Sumitra Iyengar a business woman and social activist turned politician is standing for a MLA position from Padmanabhnagar representing Lok Satta party.
In the last two decades Sumitra Iyengar has given back a lot to the society and community she has been a part off. Sumitra Iyengar decided to take politics as a full time profession because she believes it is a platform that will allow her to bring in the changes that she strongly believes in.
Sumitra Iyengar has the required leadership qualities to take a team ahead to implement to all that she is promising. Sumitra Iyengaris aware that she cannot achieve all of this without the support of youth and the people who want to see and believe in the change.

1. 100% of our community to be practising proper Garbage Segregation... Processing and Management... I am certain that we can even generate some amount of power too.. But of course I will be taking expert advise... Debating with the citizens of my Constituency and then implementing..
2. We from Padmanabanagar will have implemented Rainwater Harvesting throughout our Constituency... All of these to be achieved in the next five years if not earlier!!
3. Education for every child in our Constituency... Improve the Infrastructure of the existing Corporation and Government Schools.. Bring in the concept of Public School System which essentially serves the local Community... Add on such schools in all the Wards to ensure that we achieve 100% literacy.. Improving of the Infrastructure can be a Community activity where people from the local areas contribute in whichever they can.
4. Youth Employability and Entrepreneurship programs.. Harnessing the skill and talent available with the youth.. Enhance them through Skill And Entrepreneurship Development.. Ready to meet the Employability needs of Industry. Encourage youth who are school dropouts to participate through Modular Employable Skills and Entrepreneur Development Program.. Ensure Inclusive growth with every member of the community .
5. Empowering women through Income generation and economic independence.. This will be achieved in the similar lines as with youth.. Except the execution of the programs will be according to the needs and ability of our women.
6. Programs that are related to Senior Citizens - Be it ensuring that their pension's are in order and more.
7. Finally Safety and Security for the Girl Child, Teenage, Home Maker and working women. We will also have Community Care Centres at Ward Levels and eventually at Block Level which will be managed by Volunteers.
