Air France, a major player in the air transport industry, with an aim to engage and stimulate their online fan base, has partnered with world famous Indian fashion designer Manish Arora to launch an contest for aspiring designers to showcase their creative talents.
According to Yeshwant Pawar, General Manager South Asia, Air France – KLM, “We are delighted to partner with Manish Arora for this inspiring concept. India is home to a growing number of artists who have excelled and are making a name outside India. This is an excellent opportunity for the budding designers to showcase their talent and win an opportunity to attend the fashion show in Paris which is arguably the fashion capital of the world”
“This contest will also help Air France reach out to its consumers, create a deeper connect and strengthen our social media engagement”, added Pawar
Starting August 5, 2013, this month-long contest, provides an opportunity to fashion enthusiasts to create a ready to wear look. All that the contestants have to do is take pictures of their fashion creations based on the inspiration and upload the collection along with a short write up on www.facebook.com/airfrance. The contestants also must invite their friends to vote for their collection.
Each week, the top five collections with maximum votes will qualify to be as weekly winners. Out of which, the best will be awarded with merchandise autographed by Manish Arora and the others will get Air France goodies. At the end of the contest, the final winner will be announced in the second week of September who will win two Economy Class tickets on Air France to Paris along with passes of “Manish Arora” show at the most coveted Paris Fashion Week, scheduled to be held from September 24 to October 2, 2013. In addition, the winner will also get a certificate of appreciation from Manish Arora.
All entries will be adjudged by Manish Arora, who will also select the grand winner from the top ten selected designs.
The contest is promoted through various mediums like Facebook, Air France India website, newsletters, via display of posters in various fashion institutes through the month of August 2013.
