Today is a very special day for us – for two significant reasons – we have become the first Indian two-wheeler company to reach the historic milestone of 50 million units production, and today is also the day when we embark on a new journey. Over the past two years, we have been working hard to build a foundation to realize our aspirations of a New Hero. This New Hero will now operate at a scale never seen before – footprints in 50 countries with 20 manufacturing facilities across the globe and 100 million cumulative two-wheelers sold by 2020.
In the short term, we will launch Brand Hero in 10 more international markets by the end of this year. And by next year, we will have six assembly facilities spread across three continents.
Work is underway on a state-of-the-art Global Parts Centre (GPC) at Neemrana in Rajasthan – the largest of its kind in India that will give our large network of dealers an unmatched edge in the market.
For customers, we have lined up 12 new products of variants and upgrades during the course of this financial year.
Through our project titled ‘Leap 20’, we are bringing very high levels of innovation across our supply chain, and partnering with our suppliers to drive significant improvements in our cost structure, even as we raise the bar even higher on product quality and reliability.
Mr. Pawan Munjal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hero MotoCorp.
