Blenders Pride Fashion Tour 2013 commenced in Chandigarh on September 28th and will conclude on November 24th in Mumbai, an exciting 60 day journey. From Chandigarh to Mumbai, 6 cities will play host to the work of 10 masters of the craft, and their spectacular creations, at what is acknowledged as the benchmark for the Indian fashion calendar. After a grand preview in Mumbai that took place on September 17, the eagerly awaited fashion extravaganza kick started in Chandigarh and now comes to Bangalore over the weekend, featuring Rocky S &Tarun Tahiliani on day 2 of BPFT.

Tarun Tahiliani’s collection draws inspiration from ‘the Kumbh - A mela’.A sea of humanity, an emotion of color. And now an ingrained sense of style. Sadhus, dervishes, draping, styling, colour, pattern, embroidery, silhouette and layering, come together to set the stage for the sharp, transient sentiment that is the Kumbh. Shimmers of saffron, glimmers of reds, sparkles of golds and hues of evening browns and midnight blacks cause Kumbh-induced awakenings. Laser etching, zardozi, appliqué, bandhani, jamewar, tie and dye, velvet, animal prints, satin, thick jersey make for exciting moods. A very organic feel exists through the skirts, kurtis, jackets, dresses, saris, gilets and accessories. There is a lot of the signature layering and wrapping that reminds one of the sensuousness and aesthetics of the Kumbh.
