Commenting on the opportunity of representing India on a global platform for the second time, David D'Souza said "Well, my first experience at the World Golfers Championship in 2009 was remarkable and it is an amazing to be an ambassador of your country at a global tournament. This year, backed by a great team of enthusiastic players, I am really hoping that each one of us, individually and as a team can make the nation proud by going all the way."
Indur Hirani, captain of the Indian contingent, said, "This year, the chances of us being crowned the World Champions is much better than the previous years as this is one of the most experienced team of five golfers being led by me."
WGC will be played over 72 holes stroke play with equitable stroke control and handicap adjustment between rounds. Handicap adjustment system is done between all rounds, avoiding any sandbagging, where the winner from each flight becomes World Champion. This balances the game, secures fair play and equal conditions. By playing 72 holes the championship takes full advantage of the handicap adjustment system. The winning team is decided by counting all the five scores after four rounds of competition while individual winners in each category are decided after counting their best nett scores of four rounds.
