48-year-old Nair is a known name in creative field and media production. He was CEO of STAR TV before he joined the launch team of NDTV Imagine as CEO. Even though his family and business are based from Mumbai, he has recently been making frequent trips to Delhi to support and contribute in AAP's communication strategy.
Nair was an avid follower of Janlokpal campaign that started under Anna's leadership. He has also been following AAP since its launch and wanted to contribute in the 'change' that AAP is trying trying in Indian politics.
"Like many media professionals in Mumbai, I am also a supporter of Janlokpal and now AAP. I am here to offer my expertise in to AAP in whatever way possible to bring the change in our society. In fact, lot of my friends are ready to contribute in AAP's communication work free of cost," said Sameer Nair.
He also said that being Mumbai resident he can't vote in Delhi elections but has been asking all his friends, relatives and acquaintances in the national capital to vote for AAP.
AAP's national convener Arvind Kejriwal also welcomed Nair. He exhorted people to come out and support the party.
Nair's support is latest in line of many a volunteers that have left their jobs - some in India and some abroad - to support AAP. While some are working as full time volunteers for AAP, many like Nair are supporting in whatever possible way they can.
People from all walks of life like doctors, engineers, teachers, students, activists have come out to support AAP. The party invites people from across India to come out and if possible to Delhi to support the political revolution that AAP has ignited.
