Blood donation camp by Navy men
The first blood donation camp of the year was inaugurated by Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief Southern Naval Command at the Navy hospital INHS Sanjivani here today. A total of 84 units of blood were donated by the Navy men who volunteered from ships and establishments based at Kochi. The collected units were handed over to the local chapter of IMA (Indian Medical Association)  at  Kochi. Each unit of blood prepared into components by the IMA will benefit multiple recipients in various hospitals in and around Kochi. Last year 4 such camps were held by the Navy for the benefit of local community and  IMA had felicitated Navy for its service of blood donation.
