Chandrashekar Kakal (Kakal) a member of the Executive Council of Infosys has submitted his resignation. He was holding operational responsibility for the India Business Unit of Infosys. He also war serving on the Boards of Infosys BPO, Infosys China and Infosys Shanghai.
Since joining the Infosys Enterprise Solutions in 1999, Kakal has played a key role in the company’s entry into the package implementation and related services market. In 2004, he was appointed Global Head of Enterprise Solutions which grew to account for more than 25 percent of the company’s total service revenues under his leadership. This unit was recognized as an industry leader in the sector by top analyst firms.
Kakal was also instrumental in setting up the Hyderabad Development Center (DC) in 2000. He has been a leader in establishing strong partnerships with SAP, Oracle, Sterling Commerce, TIBCO, and other enterprise solutions vendors. In 2010, he was listed as one of the Top 25 Consultants in the world for excellence in technology consulting.
Kakal holds a master’s in business administration, with a specialization in international business, from the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, and a degree in mechanical engineering from Bangalore University, India. He also holds a graduate diploma in materials management from Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM).
