The 73rd Executive Committee Meeting of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) held at Chennai, on 9th April, 2014, unanimously resolves to express its sincere concerns over rising NPAs in the Banking Industry and demands that:
1. Names of defaulters should immediately be published in National newspapers;
2. The willful default should be made Criminal offence in Indian Penal Code;
3. FIRs should be lodged against willful defaulters as directed by RBI;
4. All willful defaulters should be debarred from contesting elections by making amendment in “The Representation of the People Act.”
The Executive Committees also decides to launch country wide agitation against the menace of NPAs and demands that profitability of the Banking Industry, which is largely impaired due to rising NPAs and reasons beyond the control of Bank officers and employees, should not be linked with Salary Revision of the Bank employees
