Shri. Dilip Parulekar, Tourism Minister, Goa said, “I am very happy to note that Goa has won prestigious awards in so many categories. This matches with our aim of promoting the state as an all-round, 365-day destination and is a recognition to several steps taken by tourism department. In 2013 our tourist arrival figures went up by 12% compared to the previous year and we are optimistic that with all the initiatives taken by Goa Tourism, the number will increase further this year around.
The award function was held at Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. Mr. Parvez Diwan, Honorable Secretary of Tourism, Govt. of India was the guest of honour.
