#West Bengal to give subsidy for setting up rice mills

West Bengal government will provide subsidy for setting up new rice mills in tribal and non-tribal areas of the state.
"The state government wants to open more modernised rice mills in the state. And it would help persons willing to open new mills in tribal areas with a subsidy of Rs 75 lakh and another Rs five lakh as an encouragement incentive for opening mills," West Bengal Food and Supplies Minister Jyotipriya Mallick said today.

He also said that the state government will build godowns near the rice mills to help farmers stockpile their paddy while coming to see the crop to the rice mills.

“All the 165 blocks will have one such godown near the mill. Farmers will be able to store their paddy crop when coming to sell it to the rice mills,” he said.
