Goolamhussein Essaji Vahanvati or G.E.Vahanvati was the 13th Attorney General for India.
Vahanvati entered controversy shortly after the 2G Spectrum Scam gained traction in the news media in early 2011. His role was being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation until recently. In September 2011 the CBI gave Vahanvati 'a clean chit' as it filed a status report before the Supreme Court of India during a 2G Spectrum case hearing.
Member of Parliament, Gurudas Dasgupta accused him of having undeclared assets in UBS bank in Singapore.
