A second year History (Hons) student of renowned Jadavpur University in West Bengal has informed the college authorities about an alleged molestation incident and registered a complaint with the Jadavpur police. Police have started investigation under sections 354 (criminal assault on a woman to outrage her modesty) and 379 (theft) of the IPC against the accused. No arrests have been made so far.
