More than 1,000 French companies have put in a total investment of 20 billion Euro in India till date, making it the 3rd largest FDI contributing country for India, it was disclosed by Fancois Gautier, the new Consul General of France in Bangalore.This figure is poised to increase significantly over the next years with the consolidation and extension of existing investments as well as the advent of new companies in the country.According to Karnataka industries minister R.V.Deshpande more than 150 French companies are operating out of karnataka and another 50-60 companies are planning to setup their bases in Karnataka.He was speaking at the France Makes in India conference organised by Indo-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Also present was Karnataka MLA Priyank Kharge, the younger son of leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge.
