DSCI Excellence Awards 2013 continues to be an integral part of the Summit. Both the corporate and law-enforcement awards will be presented together. This is already the third year and the awards have become one of the most respected and sought after awards in the country. Shri. About DSCI
Data Security Council of India (DSCI), a section 25 not-for-profit company, was setup as an independent Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) by NASSCOM, to promote data protection, develop security and privacy codes & standards and encourage the IT/BPO industry to implement the same. A NASSCOM® Initiative DSCI is guided by a Board of Directors comprised of NASSCOM nominees, Independent Directors and Academics. The Board is chaired by an independent director. A steering committee comprising members from leading IT/BPO companies from India and abroad provides active guidance to DSCI. DSCI has developed Best Practices for Data Protection that are in line with global standards and cover emerging disciplines of security and privacy. While its immediate goal is to raise the level of security and privacy of IT and BPO service providers to assure their clients and other stakeholders that India is a secure destination for global sourcing, DSCI also promotes these best practices for domestic industry segments like Banking, Telecom and e- governance Public Advocacy, Thought Leadership, Awareness and Outreach and Capacity Building are the key words with which DSCI continues to promote and enhance trust in India as a secure global sourcing hub, and promotes data protection in the country.
