High Speed Dome IP cameras can pan up to 360 degrees and support continuous surveillance operation. These cameras can be used in traffic surveillance, traffic signals, hotels, airports and defense establishments.

The IP cameras come with a 3-year warranty and online support for customers. Dax intends to market these products through its broad network of its partners and system integrators.

We’re here! We’re back! And we bring you the year that was, through top searches that defined India's preferences in 2010. The year- end Google India Zeitgeist- a listing of the top Google searches done by Indian netizens in 2010- throws up a panorama of events, moments and trends that shaped our lives this year.“Google Zeitgeist 2010 is a real reflection of the spirit of the nation. It offers a unique perspective on the year's major events and hottest trends based on searches that Indians did online.” said Vinay Goel, Head of Products, Google India.

For starters, IRCTC continues to top the charts of the year-on-year fastest rising bracket, while some of the newer entries this year are the Micromax and Samsung mobiles- giving an indication of how central the mobile phone has become for people in today’s world.

Netizens continue to be movie buffs with Kites, Endhiran and Dabangg topping the charts in the most popular movie bracket, this year. Amongst the fastest rising category, British actress Aruna Shields emerges on top followed by Sonakshi Sinha, who made her film debut this year. Some of the other favorites from Bollywood this year include Katrina Kaif and Zarine Khan, while amongst the men, Salman Khan ruled the web.

Music soothes souls clearly! More and more people are turning to the World Wide Web for music as ‘songs’ featured as the most popular searched term this year. And Internet is the new 'counsellor'! Many turned to the Internet with queries such as ‘How to get Pregnant’, ‘How to Kiss’ and ‘How to impress a girl’.

While putting together the lists, Google studied the aggregation of billions of queries people typed into Google search in 2010 to compile the Google India Zeitgeist 2010. We used data from multiple sources, including Insights for Search, Google Trends and internal data tools to compile the same. We also filtered out spam and repeat queries to build out lists that best reflect "the spirit of the times." All of the search queries we studied are anonymous - no personal information was used. Except where noted, all of these search terms are most popular for 2010 - ranked in order of the queries with the largest volume of searches this year. In some cases, we list the "fastest rising" queries, which means we found the most popular searches conducted in 2010 and then ranked them based on how much their popularity increased compared to 2009.

Zeitgeist Explained

Google reveals the internet "Zeitgeist" (German for "the spirit of the times") through an exploration of the billions of search queries we receive every year. In addition to the year-end Zeitgeist, which highlights the top trends of 2009, we also have several tools that give insight into global, regional, past and present search trends. Google Zeitgeist tools can never be used to identify individual users because we rely on anonymized, aggregated counts of how often certain search queries occur over time. These tools are available year-round for you to play with, explore, and learn from: www.google.com/zeitgeist

MediScan Systems Pioneers Breakthrough TeleSonography Screening to Reduce Birth Defects in new-borns

Birth defects are a global problem. Experience from high-income countries shows that up to 70 percent of birth defects can either be prevented, or that affected children can be offered care that could be lifesaving or would reduce the severity of disability. Every year an estimated 7.9 million children (6percent of total births worldwide) are born with a serious birth defect of genetic or partially geneticorigin*.

“With nearly 30 million births in India, an estimated 1.5 to 2 million children are born with serious birth defects, every year. Serious birth defects can be lethal. Even when they are not lethal a significant number of these disorders can cause lifelong disability” said Dr S. Suresh, Director MediScan Systems, Chennai and one of the pioneers in the field of ultrasound and fetal medicine in India.

Advt. For retail POS Billing Software for Showrooms in Bangalore visit www.neoewatchmedia.com

“Timely monitoring and structured screening of pregnant mothers especially in the 11-13 week of pregnancy is critical for preventive and corrective measures to be taken early in the pregnancy cycle. Unfortunately, the numbers for fetal medicine specialists trained for handling possible abnormalities is too low in a country like India for the vast number of live births every year”, he added.

In a move to dramatically reduce birth defects in India, and to meet the challenges of this shortfall, MediScan Systems have partnered with Bangalore based i2i TeleSolutions, a leading supplier of Telemedicine Software to provide a TeleSonography platform that can link sonographers and experts from around the world. Experts can now monitor pregnancy, review and report on fetal health remotely be it through the internet or the mobile network.

"The ability to compress and securely transmit obstetric ultrasound images and data lossless to experts anywhere, anytime on platforms like the iPhone and iPAD, fundamentally changes the way healthcare can be accessed from remote locations ”, said Arindam Sen, Senior Vice President at i2i TeleSolutions.

"Providing pregnant mothers early access to fetal healthcare specialists without the constraint of geography is the primary goal of our TeleSonography platform”, said Sham Banerji, CEO of i2i TeleSolutions.

MediScan Systems, Chennai, played a key role in setting standards for Down syndrome screening and setting up a Birth Defects Registry of India. Under the guidance of Dr. Suresh, the Fetal Care Research Foundation has the vision to offer access to the most advanced fetal care for every fetus. The aim of the foundation is to provide preventive, supportive and curative care for birth defects. FCRF is involved in extensive activities to achieve this end.

The TeleSonography platform integrates the leading ultrasound reporting workstation SONOCARE™ from MediaLogic, developed under the guidance of Dr. Suresh with TelePACS™ Telemedicine platform from i2iTeleSolutions.

Compared to first quarter 2010, the daily query average increased 16 percent and the peak grew by 32 percent. Taken annually, the daily average increased 28 percent and the peak daily queries grew 43 percent.

Forrester Study: DNS Security Extensions Ready for Prime Time

The latest Domain Name Industry Brief also spotlights the industry’s progress in implementing DNS Security Extensions (DNSSEC), which is designed to protect users against “DNS cache poisoning” and “man-in-the-middle” attacks by cryptographically signing DNS data. In July, VeriSign joined with U.S. Department of Commerce and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to deploy DNSSEC at the root of the DNS.

A new Forrester Research study conducted on behalf of VeriSign shows how timely the implementation of DNSSEC is. For the study, titled DNSSEC Ready for Prime Time, Forrester polled 297 IT decision-makers. The survey revealed that DNS attacks are commonplace, and this has made DNS security a top-line concern for companies and organizations. Forrester found

51 percent of respondents reported experiencing DNS-related attacks, 38 percent of whom said they had experienced man-in-the-middle attacks, which DNSSEC is specifically intended to prevent.

Forrester researchers also found that while DNSSEC may not yet be widely understood – only

43 percent of respondents said they had heard about DNSSEC and knew what problems it solved – the majority of business IT leaders who do know about it plan to deploy the technology on their networks. Of those who reported knowing about DNSSEC, 90 percent said they would implement the technology within 18 months. Only 5 percent reported that they would not implement DNSSEC.

“With so many factors pointing toward the need for widespread DNSSEC adoption, one of the greatest obstacles lies in building awareness of the technology and its value among the Internet community as a whole,” said Ken Silva, senior vice president and chief technology officer at VeriSign “The path toward global deployment is a long one, but with the implementation of DNSSEC at the root and the growing call for DNS security measures at companies and organizations, the community has taken a significant first step.”

Internet domains around the world are working to implement the technology in their zones. VeriSign expects to deploy DNSSEC in .net before the end of 2010 and in .com in the first quarter of 2011. For more information on DNSSEC implementation, visit: www.verisign.com/dnssec

HONEYWELL'S UOP AND INDIAN OIL CORP. TO COLLABORATE ON BIOFUELS PROJECTS IN INDIA

UOP LLC, a Honeywell (NYSE: HON) company, announced today that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. (IOCL) under which the two companies would collaborate on research and development for a range of biofuels technologies and projects in India.

The companies would evaluate installation of a demonstration-scale unit to produce green transportation fuels at an existing IOCL site using non-food feedstocks available within India . IOCL and Honeywell’s UOP would also evaluate the viability of pyrolysis oil technology to convert lignocellulosic materials, or plant biomass, into renewable power and heat.

IOCL would also focus on research and development for the production of algal oil for use as a feedstock in the green fuels production.

“This collaboration is focused on the development of viable and sustainable green fuels that will enable reduced greenhouse gas emissions in India ,” said Jennifer Holmgren, vice president and general manager of Honeywell UOP’s Renewable Energy and Chemicals business unit. “We are honored to work with IOCL to support this initiative and movement toward a reduced carbon footprint in India .”

“We have to reduce the carbon footprint of our business operations at least by 25 percent from the present level. It is not only our moral responsibility, but also necessary for sustaining the growth of our business. Green operation will allow us to reduce costs by reducing the energy intensity of our operations and thereby becoming cost competitive. It also helps us produce more from the same or even less inputs. We are looking forward to working with UOP to bring together our respective areas of expertise and achieve these goals,” said Mr. Anand Kumar, director of research and development for IOCL.

The UOP/Eni Ecofining™ process uses catalytic hydroprocessing technology to convert natural oils and animal fats to Honeywell Green Diesel™ fuel. The product, which is chemically indistinguishable from traditional diesel fuel, offers improved performance including a higher cetane value, excellent cold-flow performance and reduced emissions over both biodiesel and petroleum-based diesel. Green Diesel offers value as a blending stock for refiners seeking to enhance existing diesel fuels and expand the diesel pool.

Honeywell’s UOP has also developed process technology to produce Honeywell Green Jet™ fuel under a contract from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) for both military and commercial aircraft. The process produces a fuel that meets all critical specifications for flight while offering reduced emissions and improved energy density to enable aircraft to fly farther on less fuel.

In 2008, Honeywell’s UOP formed the joint venture Envergent Technologies LLC with Ensyn Corp. to offer RTP® rapid thermal processing technology that converts biomass such as forest waste or agricultural residuals into pyrolysis oil, which can be used to generate heat and power.

IOCL, India 's flagship national oil company and downstream petroleum major is India 's largest commercial enterprise. The IndianOil Research and Development Centre is the region’s foremost commercial center of excellence in the areas of lubricants, oil refining, fuel additives, engine testing, materials sciences, and environmental sciences. This center plays a key role in supporting the IOCL and its customers and was the first Indian company to demonstrate the feasibility of producing biofuels from non-edible oils.

UOP LLC, headquartered in Des Plaines , Illinois , USA , is a leading international supplier and licensor of process technology, catalysts, adsorbents, process plants, and consulting services to the petroleum refining, petrochemical, and gas processing industries. UOP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Honeywell International, Inc. and is part of Honeywell’s Specialty Materials strategic business group. For more information, go to www.uop.com.

ARUBA NETWORKS POSITIONED IN LEADERS QUADRANT

Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARUN), a global leader in 802.11n wireless LANs and secure mobility solutions, today announced that it has again been positioned in the “Leaders” quadrant in Gartner's 2009 “Magic Quadrant for Wireless LAN Infrastructure” report.

“Magic Quadrants evaluate vendors based on the completeness of their vision and their ability to execute, and we’re delighted to receive this recognition from Gartner," said Dominic Orr, Aruba ’s president and CEO. “2009 saw the release of such innovative products as our value leading AP-105 802.11n Access Point, AirWave OnDemand cloud-based multi-vendor network management, and the Best of Interop 2009 award-winning Virtual Branch Networking solution. We also grew our market share, widened the distance to our next closest competitor, and added roughly 600 new customers per quarter. These are major accomplishments, especially since they occurred in the midst of an economic downturn.”

The report notes that “A vendor in the Leaders quadrant will have demonstrated an ability to fulfill a broad variety of customer requirements, provide an end-to-end infrastructure-based solution and have financial viability to continue that support beyond a single installation. Leaders should have demonstrated an ability to shape the market, maintain strong relationships with their channels and customers, and have no obvious gaps within the product portfolio.”

Aruba’s centralized wireless LAN architecture delivers switch-like performance while also lowering IT operating expenses by simplifying network set-up, expansion, and updates. Whether managing a single campus or a multi-national enterprise, the centralized architecture delivers exceptional performance yet requires minimal IT staff overhead to manage.

To ensure a good user experience, even in the presence of other nearby or legacy Wi-Fi networks, Aruba ’s Adaptive Radio Management (ARM) technology uses infrastructure-based controls to optimize the real-time performance of Wi-Fi devices. By controlling how Wi-Fi devices interact, ARM ensures that data, voice, and video applications have sufficient network resources, including airtime, to operate properly. The benefits of using ARM are especially noticeable in high-density deployments like urban locations, sports arenas, trading floors, classrooms, and lecture halls.

While Aruba is best known as a supplier of adaptive 802.11n wireless LANs, other products include a wide range of branch office and teleworker solutions, security products, and both server and cloud-based multi-vendor network management platforms. Taken together these products yield operational benefits across the enterprise because they address so many costly pain points.

“We can significantly lower operating expenses using a tool set drawn from our deep line-up of seamlessly integrated Wi-Fi, security, branch office, and management solutions,” continued Orr. “Most of our competitors either lack comparable tools or the cost of integrating their tools is so high as to be non-competitive. We believe our positioning in the Magic Quadrant recognizes Aruba ’s competitive advantages and the cost-containment and productivity-enhancement benefits we bring to the table.”

CA to Acquire Nimsoft

CA Inc., (NASDAQ:CA) today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held Nimsoft, Inc.—a leading provider of IT performance and availability monitoring solutions for emerging enterprises and Managed Service Providers (MSPs)—in an all-cash transaction valued at $350 million.

The acquisition significantly extends CA’s ability to meet the unique IT management needs of emerging enterprises and MSPs, both of which are playing leading roles in the growth of cloud computing. CA estimates that emerging enterprises, which it categorizes as organizations with annual revenues from $300 million to $2 billion, will account for approximately a quarter of the software spending in CA’s market space by 2013. By leveraging Nimsoft’s market expertise and technology, CA expects to add an entirely new set of customers to its base, which historically has been comprised of large enterprises.

“With our planned acquisition of Nimsoft, CA will be equipped to capture several important growth market segments—including emerging enterprises, emerging national economies, and the MSPs who are providing these customers with IT management services via the cloud,” said Chris O’Malley, CA’s executive vice president, Cloud Products and Solutions Business Line. “Penetration of these markets will further expand our global leadership in IT management and complement our existing strength with large enterprise customers.”

Today’s announcement follows CA’s recent acquisitions of Cassatt, NetQoS and Oblicore and the planned acquisition of 3Tera.

“As the way organizations deploy business services continues to shift, the way they manage those services must also shift,” said Dennis Callaghan, senior analyst at The 451 Group. “CA’s acquisition of Nimsoft—following its other recent acquisitions in the cloud computing space—demonstrates that CA is expanding its capabilities to meet the needs of its existing enterprise customers while also stepping up to address those of the emerging enterprise and MSP sectors.”

The acquisition also will extend CA’s leadership position in the Service Assurance market segment, offering one of the most comprehensive suites of IT monitoring and management solutions in the industry. “CA and Nimsoft are a perfect match,” said Gary Read, Nimsoft president and CEO, who will be joining CA. “We are joining a company that wrote the book on enterprise management. Compuware Launches New Initiative to Increase Profitability of Mobile Data Service Providers

Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today launched a new initiative to increase the profitability of mobile data service providers by empowering them to improve and manage the customer data experience. The exponential increase in data-rich applications on mobile devices makes the optimization of the subscriber experience more difficult to achieve and more important to revenue, customer satisfaction and service provider loyalty.

Compuware Vantage for Mobile is the first integrated solution to provide a real-time view of a customer’s mobile data services experience by starting with an individual subscriber’s experience and linking back to key business functions. Customer benefits include increased subscriber retention, higher data average revenue per unit (ARPU), optimization of network investments, reduction in customer support costs and improved customer experience.

“Data-centric mobile devices continue to pave the way for a massive growth in network traffic,” said Elisabeth Rainge, Program Director for Network Software at IDC. “Network performance metrics are indeed important to validate the huge investments currently being made in mobile broadband networks to ensure data services are fast and reliable. But unless the network performance is combined with an understanding of the customer experience, the provider risks discouraging the now-nascent usage of mobile data services as well as undermining the profitability and trust that come with a long term customer relationship.”

Unlike existing network-centric management tools that only provide metrics on network performance and the aggregate view of subscribers, Vantage for Mobile effectively addresses the new challenges that require operators to understand individual subscriber experiences on mobile data services. The solution enables network operations teams to identify areas for network expansion; customer support teams to quickly resolve issues; sales and marketing teams to make informed business decisions; and customer retention teams to better understand customer renewal decisions.

“Mobile operators have traditionally been focused on the network; as the demand for mobile broadband data services grows they need to extend their focus to include quality of experience. The quality of the customer data experience will differentiate one operator from another,” said Ian Clarke, Global Director of Telecoms Strategy at Compuware. “In this new world, the price of having no real-time visibility into a subscriber’s experience of mobile data services is an unsustainable combination of decreasing profit and escalating subscriber churn. With the popularity of mobile applications on devices such as Apple’s iPhone, the customer data experience has to be flawless. This business-wide issue impacts a broad range of departments and must be addressed if operators are to reduce retention risks and increase profitability.”

Compuware also announced the availability of a market research study of 22 operators worldwide. This study confirmed that the root cause of reduced customer satisfaction, increased churn and increased management costs is a lack of visibility into the subscriber experience of mobile data services. Moreover, the study identified how the growing demand for mobile data has brought operators a new dimension of management challenges that include: higher than expected network traffic, reduced profitability of IP data revenue, rising support costs, rising complexity of new devices and services and increased pressure on call center staff. These challenges combined with intensified competition and price wars are eroding operator profitability.

“As mobile network operators (MNOs) search for elusive growth in tough economic times, mobile broadband data services represent a bright spot for accelerating demand and revenue generation,” said Sheryl Kingstone, Director Enterprise Research, Yankee Group. “Success will only happen when MNOs capitalize on their strengths in service distribution and personalization and implement solutions to address the fundamental challenges in economically delivering profitable services. Yet MNO’s do not have visibility into the critical network data as it relates to their subscriber base to capitalize on the opportunity. Only then can they proactively identify new revenue opportunities and improve customer experience.”
